Hike or take a cable car to the summit of Isabel de Torres for panoramic views of Puerto Plata. Explore the botanical gardens and the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue.
Mount Isabel de Torres rises above Puerto Plata, 2600 ft./793 m. above sea level.
At the summit of the mountain, you’ll find a massive statue of Christ (a replica of the one in Rio de Janeiro) and a national park, part of the wild Caribbean jungle.
From the top, you can enjoy incredible views of Puerto Plata Bay. On-site, you can also purchase souvenirs and relax in a cafe.
To reach the top, we recommend using the only cable car (teleférico) in the Caribbean – it’s comfortable and safe, making it suitable for small children as well.
