The Cofresi Hills complex is located in the immediate proximity of the Ocean World marina in Cofresi Bay, Puerto Plata. Nearby, there are two huge ports that accept cruisers departing from Miami, Florida, through the Bahamas and the Caribbean. It is also a popular marina for luxury yachts and smaller cruise liners from Puerto Rico and the Western Caribbean. Right next to our properties is the Ocean World water park.

PUERTO PLATA
The port city of Puerto Plata, located on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, is characterized by colonial and Victorian architecture, long sandy beaches, lots of greenery, and towering over a majestic mountain range. The historic center of Puerto Plata covers 60 blocks of this early colonial city. Colorful houses can be seen on Calle Duarte, Calle Separación, Calle Beller, and Calle Ariza. Just 10 minutes from the city center are the Luxury Apartments - Cofresi Hills Residence, where you can experience the privacy and enjoy all that the Caribbean has to offer.

SANTIAGO
Santiago de los Caballeros, also called Santiago, is a city located in the north of the Dominican Republic. It lies on the Yaque del Norte River, in the heart of the fertile Cibao Valley, and is known as the capital of the Cibao region.
Santiago de los Caballeros is the second largest city in the country and is more traditional than the capital, Santo Domingo. After being destroyed by an earthquake in 1562, the city was rebuilt a few miles away where the Nibaje stream meets the Yaque; the ruins of the old city can still be seen in the San Francisco de Jacagua neighborhood.

POP International Airport
30 min from Cofresi Hills Residence. The airport is named after General Gregorio Luperón, a Dominican military and state leader. Was built in 1971 when the North Coast was declared as a strategic zone for tourism development. The runway length of 3.081 x 46 meters can handle wide body aircraft and up to 1,200 passengers per hour.

Cibao International Airport STI
60 min from Cofresi Hills Residence. Cibao International Airport. Located in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic's second-largest city. It is the country's third-busiest airport by passenger traffic and aircraft movements.

Amber Cove Cruise Port

Located 11 minutes from Cofresi Hills Residence, in the province of Puerto Plata on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic. Amber Cove covers 30 acres of waterfront residence and has a large shopping village with restaurants and a huge swimming pool with a swim-up bar.

Taino Bay Cruise Port

Taino Bay is located 12 minutes from Cofresi Hills Residence, right in the provincial capital and the city’s cultural and historic attractions are comfortable walkable distances.
Taino Bay port has a welcome area, transport hub, stores, beach club, food, and beverage outlets, and offers continuous free trolley service to Puerto Plata’s historic center.

27 DAMAJAGUA WATERFALLS
Damajagua is a natural system of 27 waterfalls, from which you can slide down and jump straight into lagoons several meters deep. Located only 30 min from Cofresi Hills Residence. The attraction can only be visited when accompanied by guides who will provide a helmet, a life jacket, and instructions on how to slide down (or jump) from individual waterfalls.

Chocal - Chocolate factory
This little chocolate factory is run by an enterprising group of women who grow, process, pack, and sell chocolate.
In this chocolate-scented place, you can learn everything about Dominican cocoa, from the tree - visiting the plantation - to the beans.
The factory is located in Altamira, 37 min from Cofresi Hills Residence, in the rainforest just outside downtown Puerto Plata, at an altitude of 400 meters (1,312 feet) above sea level, from where you can also enjoy spectacular views of the city's mountainous provinces.

OCEAN WORLD ADVENTURE PARK
Ocean World Adventure Park combines attractions known from water parks, oceanariums, and zoos. Here you can swim with dolphins, play with sea lions and feed exotic birds. Walking in tropical rainforests, scuba diving, or watching a shark show await you here. All this is right next to the Luxurious Cofresi Hills Residence Apartments.

Brugal Rum Distillery
Republic's largest producer of traditionally made rum since 1888, ages in some 200,000 US white oak barrels at a Puerto Plata distillery, only 20 mins from the Cofresi Hills Residence.
The Rum factory in the Dominican Republic was founded in 1888 by a Cuban immigrant of Spanish origin - Andreas Brugal Montenero.
During a tour of the distillery, you can learn about the production process of this popular brand and take part in tasting some of the best Dominican rums.
Brugal rum comes in several varieties such as Blanco, Añejo, Especial Extra Dry, Extra Viejo, 1888.

WHITE WATER RAFTING
Incredible adrenaline for the adventurous. Admire the Yaque del Norte River, one of the longest rivers in the Caribbean region, at Jarabacoa with a rafting tour. River rafting is usually restricted to persons over the age of 14. Located 25 minutes from the Cofresi Hills Residence.

PUERTO PLATA CABLE CAR
Located only 12 min from Cofresi Hills Residence. The only cable car in the Caribbean region, operating continuously since 1975. A breathtaking 10-minute ride 800 meters (2,625 feet) above the magical landscape of Puerto Plata - from the sea in the north to the lush green plains that finally lead to the other end Mount Isabel de Torres.
It sits high on Mount Isabel de Torres, a nature reserve park that offers an interesting glimpse of the local flora and fauna protected by the reserve. Botanical gardens, natural caves, and streams, all in perfect harmony, can be admired as you go by cable car.

San Felipe Fortress
Fort San Felipe is a historic Spanish fortress located in the north of the Dominican Republic in the province of Puerto Plata, 12 min from Cofresi Hills Residence. It is also known as El Morro de San Felipe and was used to protect the city of Puerto Plata from pirates and corsairs. Situated on a hill in Puntilla Del Malecon, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. This strategic location protected the entrance to the city's seaport. The construction of the fort was commissioned by King Philip II of Spain in 1564 and was completed in 1577 by Don Rengifo of Angulo, the mayor of the fort.
Today, the San Felipe Fortress serves as a museum that houses military artifacts from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Mount Isabel de Torres
Mount Isabel de Torres with Christ the Redeemer, one of the symbols of the province, at its peak. 793 meters (2,600 feet) above the green hills of Puerto Plata, surrounded by phenomenal views of the Atlantic Ocean and the beaches in the distance. Beautiful botanical gardens filled with local flora, caves, and plenty of places to take a break from the sun.
Isabel de Torres National Park takes its name from the popular Loma Isabel de Torres (Isabel de Torres Hill), an 800-meter headland in Puerto Plata.
A 15 km2 park with a botanical garden is a nature reserve that is home to many species of animals, birds, and plants, many of which are endemic to the region (such as palm trees, woodpeckers, and Cuban kites). Located only 25 min from Cofresi Hills Residence.

PLAYA DORADA GOLF CLUB
The Playa Dorada Golf Club in Puerto Plata, with traditions dating back to the early 1970s, awaits golfers. The PGA Latino tournament is played here every year. Members of the Cofresi Hills community can join the golf club on preferential terms.
Located in the tourist complex of Playa Dorada in Puerto Plata, 20 mins from Cofresi Hills Residence, on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, 18 holes, par 72 and extends approximately 6990 meters on irregular but very versatile terrain that is sometimes difficult.

MONKEY JUNGLE
Monkey Jungle is located between Sosúa and Cabarete, 80 min from Cofresi Hills Residence. It is the home to almost 30 squirrel and capuchin monkeys and includes a 7 station 4500 foot ACCT certified zip line.

Dorada Beach
Just ten minutes east of downtown Puerto Plata, 25 min from Cofresi Hills Residence. Sections of these stunning, wide golden beach stretches are Blue Flag certified for their water quality and services. You’ll find extensive options for water sports from kitesurfing to banana boat tubing, as well as restaurants and bars.

Cofresi Beach
Playa Cofresí is a beach located in Cofresí Bay, 50 meters from the Cofresi Hills Residence.
The Cofresi beach and bay are well-known for pirates stories of the colonial era like that one about Cofresí’s Pirate - Roberto Cofresi, after whom the beach and the bay were named.
In addition to being a lovely place to sunbathe and relax, the water offers great possibilities for bodysurfing and boogie boarding on its restless waves.
Besides the beauty of this cove of crystal clear water surrounded by beautiful coconut palms, Playa Cofresi is also an interesting option due to its proximity to Ocean World Adventure Park, one of the country's best water parks.

Sosua Beach
Located approximately 24 km far from Puerto Plata, and about 50 min from Cofresi Hills Residence, Playa Sosúa is a popular strip of sand loved by tourists for its khaki-colored soft shores, shallow waters, and numerous amenities. Sosúa Beach is surrounded by lots of restaurants and bars where you can taste the typical Dominican delicacies. This beach is well-known for its good natural conditions, its luxuriant vegetation, and its crystal-clear waters, which are inhabited by a rich submarine ecosystem. Excellent place to practice several aquatic activities like snorkeling or diving.

Playa Cabarete
Cabarete stretches 6 kilometers along the northern coast of the island and is characterized by a sandy beach. It is the center of the Caribbean for windsurfing, kiteboarding and laser sailing. Lots of space to swim and relax, opposite many restaurants, bars, shops on the eastern side of the beach. Regatta and windsurfing competitions take place in Cabarete - full of emotions just 50 mins from the Cofresi Hills Residence.
NUMEROUS ATTRACTIONS
Among the rich offer of leisure activities, you will find, among others, fishing from a boat (and you can catch record fish here, and then moor in a picturesque bay to enjoy a barbecue on the boat), diving, horse riding, rafting, quad rides or kitesurfing in one of the best spots of the world nearby Cabarete. The Dominican Republic has an extremely rich offer also for golfers, not only in the friendly Playa Dorada Golf Club, but also in other excellent locations.

DELICIOUS FOOD
Here, you don’t have to travel far to eat well. In Cofresi Bay, there are several restaurants offering excellent international cuisines – such as Los Charros with Mexican cuisine – as well as bars and a mini-market with home delivery. The Maimón district, famous for its fresh fish and seafood, is just 10 minutes away from the residence. Several outstanding European chefs run their restaurants in the area. Puerto Plata has a wide range of culinary premises.
AMBER COAST
This part of the northern Dominican Republic is one of the most beautiful parts of the country. Picturesque mountains on the southern slope descend towards the sea, offering breathtaking views. Protected offshore coral reefs have a positive effect on the climate, which is devoid of unpredictable weather events. There are fabulous beaches, rivers, cascades and lakes providing refreshment and unforgettable experiences. In such a wonderful place, you can fully enjoy life!
